NO DOUBT RULES !!!!!!!!

Do you remember any of your high school dances where the local garage band played in the gymnasium ?

Well that's what this show was exactly like. It was held in G.W. University's basketball gym. The stage was on one of the long ends of the court. The court area was for standing room so people could be 2 - 20 feet from the stage. Old guy that I am, I went for the 1st row of bleachers about 30 ft from the stage !!

Everyone's seating was general admission, so we got there at 4pm for the door opening at 7pm. By 6pm the line wrapped completely around the building.

The warm up act started at 8:15. An interesting mix of Duran-Duran and Nirvana. Interesting ......

No Doubt came on about 9:15. They played until 11. They really rocked the place. And of course to see professional act from 30 ft away was a real treat for me and the people I went with.

One thing I was not prepared for was that about 50% of the audience was women 16 - 22 -- dressed pretty much in Gwen S. No Doubt attire. Are 16 - 22 year old men sooooo stupid that they were unable to recognize this as an amazing "date opportunity" ? In the old day, they guys ALWAYS got the tickets. Girls always got to go for free.

Anyway, we lucked out and I'm pretty sure it will be a while before my son gets a better concert experience.

Gwen S. -- I'm pretty sure it won't be long before someone offers her a movie deal "she can't refuse". She's a natural and with so many 16 - 22 year old girls identifying with her -- she's a $60M - $100M box office draw easy.
