Monica: Perhaps you can tell us what 64 bit OS will be available for the Opteron (other than We-no-longer-need-you-Linux64) at launch and what applications will be available. AMD is promising better 32bit performance than anything Intel will have to offer. That alone should be reason enough. (Of course, we'll see if they actually manage to pull it off - on time) What do you mean "we-no-longer-need-you-Linux64"? If you look at the market single processor Clawhammer systems (which will be sold under the Athlon brand, btw - presumably something like Athlon64 or AthlonXP64), Linux has quite a significant market share. -fyo
