No doubt life is miserable in Palestine, as in much of the Arab world. Hatred, frustration, political repression, denial of women's rights, denial of economic freedoms, denial of basic human instincts, are trademarks of the culture. Daily bombing attempts of American skyscrapers, Israeli civilians, Kashmir Indians, Shiites, Phillipino markets, Olympic teams, trans-Atlantic aircraft, etc. are now taken for granted.
With each terrorist attack, the Palestinian people sink deeper into the mire. Over the years, dozens of peace accords and truces have been sabotaged by terrorists. Sharon has the wisdom to recognize that peace will never occur until the terrorists are soundly beaten. Too bad the UN, the "Arab street", and the world press lacks the same wisdom.
