If?? If?!? Why get yourself worked up over "if"? It was in the design decision not to include the cache, so it's water under the bridge. Intel decided not to include an integrated memory controller, either, and I'm "sure" that they could kick Hammer's ass, too, had they decided differently earlier in the design cycle. Oh, well.
