What is your basis for thinking that JDSU insider selling is much higher in recent times (weeks, months, ??) than normal? Ditto for your opinion of JDSU vs. other companies? Have you analyzed the numbers?

Sorry, I didn't mean to say that current JDSU insider selling is worse than usual for jdsu. I was speaking of jdsu selling in relation to other companies in this sector, all of which are near 1998 levels or below, during say, the last 3 mos.

I'm just looking at 2002 with the yahoo insider page - I'm thinking we should be at multi-year depressed levels in here...

Jnpr (now 10) hasn't had any sales this year by insiders. The last sales were in the $20. range last year.

Ciena no insider activity (except a few small buys) since pre-9/11

VZ (apparently a solid rboc) - no significant sales since 9/11

WCOM - a doomed carrier (you'd think insiders would be dumping this like mad) - one large sale by one director for 600K shares, nothing else. WCOM has 3 billion shares o/s, roughly double jdsu. I'm sure tons of options out there.

jdsu -
Donald Scifres sold about 300K jdsu this year between 5-7$/share, since 9/11 about 700K shares at nothing higher than $10. Thats A LOT of shares at this low price.

cto Fred Leonberger sold 40K shares this year at $5 which he exercised at 2.5! (netting only 100K) Another 60K last year with the same grant price (2.5) exercised at 10 - this is 100K shares of jdsu once worth 10mm! Wouldn't you think he would want to hold out for say, $20/share which was jdsu's price in 2001 (after the bubble burst)?

Just looking for info, is all.
