By governing in a fog I mean the mixed messages that are emanating from Washington - in monetary policy and in foreign policy. Such a simplistic approach as exemplified by the much ridiculed 'you're either for us or against us, 'the axis of evil' In the backwaters of Texas the world must have seemed a rather simple place. But in the big wide world the knitting is beginning to unravel in the worst way. Aren't I nice and sweet to you Richard tempting as it is to reply in kind? You must resist that tendency of yours to lose your cool!
