Nice column by Christopher Caldwell from The Weekly Standard, one of the I read. I suspect he's wrong trying to collapse all this into the left.

Tony Judt's column in this morning's New York Times reads as more accurate. If I don't find it posted as I read the remainder of the thread, I'll do so.
