Buying the last new high is always a risk (though sometimes a temporary setback only as the stock pulls back, then moves to a new high). I weed the New High list with my value criteria and buy very selectively.

The downside of that approach is not buying stocks that are going up even though they don't meet Dale Baker's particular standards. That doesn't stop some from going up more anyway.

You could call it a blend of momentum and caution.
