Daisy Zamora, yes i've heard of her and had some of her lines quoted to me, but i've never really tuned in to poetry until it was put to music a la Dylan [keep meaning to do something about this, and i will one day] .... there is here in BC a fellow with a restaurant who says he knew her in the seventies, under the Somoza regime ... just looking her up on google right now, there is a lot on her ... she is very beautiful Poet, you must be a looker yourself -g- [people often mistake me for a younger and better looking Antonio Banderas, until they hear me speak, then they think Leonard Cohen]
... ahem ... gold printed 311.90 when it started up overseas, btw .... yes, Nicaragua ... it can be extremely difficult to get through to some of the flag-waver US nationals just how profoundly are affected latino perspectives of the US by its treatment of that little pissant country ... cognitive dissonance - Reagan the movie actor talking about commie tanks twenty-four hours away, while his goons would descend by surprise on undefended villages and burn the school and the clinic, torture/kill a few people for effect, then run away before any defenders could show up ... one of the ugliest and best documented stories on the net is actually of the murder of an oregonian who was building a water system ... a frigging water system for some peasants, that was his crime |
