"the strength in small and mid cap companies is what is giving the market internals such strength" Agreed. And that is why I don't take any notice of indicators such as Adv/Decl. If MSFT, INTC, CSCO & AMGN are tanking but 30 tiny little Nas stocks are making new highs then does that mean a market that is internally strong? No, because billions of dollars are flooding out of stocks with a couple of million dollars going into some small caps. In fact, one wealthy private individual could adjust the A/D line significantly upwards in the face of a large tech decline.
