I wouldn't know. It's not an argument that concerns me. As far as I'm concerned they can smoke all they want as long as they do it in a way that doesn't affect others. I do think that users should be informed of the risks.

Smoking is a somewhat different issue from the one under discussion because it is being actively and aggressively promoted, a factor with some impact on the "informed choice" issue. I would say that people have the right to indulge in high-risk sex if that is their informed choice. I would object quite seriously if somebody started a high-profile ad campaign to promote and encourage high-risk sex.
