You may have noticed that they held the SPX above 1074 during trading hours, but right after the close SPY fell lower. I don't know whether that's significant -- whether after-hours trading bears any relation to reality.

But when it comes to market direction, only Reuters knows for sure in advance:

As I've said, the S&P is oversold in the short term. The ST CI is close to 0. The LT CI is in the midrange now -- no longer overbought. The Naz is nearly in oversold territory in the short term, but not quite.
