AOL (Acronym Over Load) "ntel's New Family of Ethernet MACs are First to Use Standards-based Interface That Simplifies Designs" Hey, I've been using Macs since 1985 and have had an Ethernet Mac since at least 1990. Oh, not the same kind of Mac. Must mean "MAC" as in Message Authentication Code, the crypto function. AOL is getting out of hand. ATM sometimes means Adobe Type Manager, sometimes Amateur Telescope Maker (as in "Gleanings for ATMs" in "Sky and Telescope"), sometimes Asynchronous Transfer Mode, and sometimes even Automated Teller Machine. Oh, well, maybe I'll go up to Napa and have lunch at the CIA. --TM (a trademark of Tim May)
