It may well be a good part of it, but it also looks like foreign investors, especially the more sophisticated types, are quietly slipping out the side door with respect to U.S. denominated assets (in particular stock, and to a lesser extent, U.S corporate bonds). I'm certainly no expert in this territory, but like you and many others on this thread, I have been expecting it and hence watching for the early signs of it. I'm keeping a close eye on treasury activity as well.
