Somehow Tyco has the feel and flavor of Rite-Aid to me. When that stock was going down, there were many people saying that it was a real company, had a big market, etc., and that it was a buy (Desayer on Louis Rukeyser's show kept recommending the stock).

But it kept going down. The debt just overwhelmed the company.

Still, Tyco is on my watch list. The fact that it overpaid for recent assets does not bother me much. Most of the purchase price was in then-overpriced Tyco stock. I'd like to have a better feel for how they will handle their debt obligations.
