that may well be (ASND/CSCC's needs) but they've got some digestion to do first, wouldn't you think? And who is it that already has a sizeable piece of MRVC and has the right to buy more? And who is getting into networking that had little presence previously but sees it as a way to further gains on the desktop? A little outfit called Compaq? Or maybe it's one of CPQ's competitors who would like to prevent loss of market share in the corporate arena - e g Dell? My first guess is Intel of course since they already have a chunk and the right to buy more. But I wouldn't rule out a savvy investor or fund that foresees a buyout offer not too far down the road.
