I have just finished a couple of Novels based there, that went into the present conditions at great length. It is a typical communist paradise of the Stalin type. A little better than the Cambodia was during the Pol Pots' terror, but way, way below China and Cuba.

Every thing that the right in this country predicted, in the '60s, if the Viet Cong won,has happened. The left here who believed in the Victory of Socialism if the Cong won, have visited there, come back, and been very, very, quiet.
