I was at barnes and noble tonight, I go there to study sometimes. Anyway, I decided to to look at some popular investment magazines, and I could not believe the sentiment of the investing public. I was reading Bloomberg Personal Finance and the cover article is called "I Am Buying Again!".

bloomberg.com

The article featured different couples and the reason they now know stocks are going to go up. They have absolutely no fear. If this is a good example of what the general public is thinking things are going to be so bad I can not even imagine. These people actually believe they are being contrarians and buying when everyone else hates stocks. The article almost seems like a spoof of popular opinion, but I think it is meant to be serious.

Another magazine, Kiplingers, actually managed to display the top performing funds over the past 6 months with nary a precious metals fund to be found. Another magazine had an article about how a "Gold Bug" finally saw the light last year and turned his PM fund into a small cap value and growth fund. The article was praising his timing. It was truly unbelievable to read. I am stunned. There is no fear.
