During the first quarter, Given Imaging accomplished the following milestones:
-- More than 4,700 M2A capsules were sold in the first quarter, of which approximately 3,100 represent reorders.
-- The Given System installed base reached more than 380, with 172 systems installed in the United States.
OK, so about 2.1 million in capsule sales for the quarter. This could put the cost of a base at around 6 - 8 thousand. 66% reorder rate for the quarter. This percentage will continue to grow as more bases are installed. But for now, this quarter delivered a little better than 12 capsules per base for the quarter or roughly 4 capsules per base per month. Exposure will increase the number of bases installed per month, but for now, if they've been installing for say, 6 months, we have an average of 63 bases installed per month, or 2 per day.
Using these numbers, each month will show an increase of revenue of $108,000 over the previous month. Using these numbers, each quarter will show an increase of $648,000 over the previous quarter. Using these numbers, each year will show an increase of $8,424,000.00 in revenue over the previous year.
But suppose the word really gets out, and they start installing 5 bases per day? In two years time from now there would be 4030 bases. The cost of 3650 additional bases would generate around 29 million for the 2 years, and capsule sales would be (based on 12 per base per quarter) 21.7 million per quarter.
I love forward looking.... Let's see, 5000 bases sold per day @ 50 capsules per base per quarter.....One show, good-bye.
