With regards to market share you are probably right but I recall an Intel interview shortly after the Athlon introduction (before Coppermine) when Intel admitted that AMD had "defeated" them in one area. But of course it was downplayed at that time. After Coppermine and later Pentium 4 were introduced I don't think Intel ever admitted that they were behind in performance.

BTW, strange that Jerry said only two weeks ago (at the CC) that AMD had still the performance lead. And now he says Intel is ahead of AMD. Intel didn't release any new processors since then...
