HP says 'gratified' by court ruling, eager to move forward with merger PALO ALTO, CA, Apr 30, 2002 (AFX-Asia via COMTEX) -- Hewlett-Packard Co said it is "gratified" with the favourable court ruling and said it is ready to move forward with its merger with Compaq Computer. "(The) decision speaks for itself," the company said in a brief e-mail statement to the press. "HP is gratified by the ruling and we look forward to the opportunity to move on." Delaware Chancery Court Judge William Chandler dismissed the Walter Hewlett suit contesting the Hewlett-Packard Co shareholder vote of March 19 on the contested merger with Compaq. Separately, dissident shareholder Walter Hewlett said he will review the Court's decision.
