Based on the post you are responding to some action is recommended over no action. However, having not acting in this case would not carry the same weight of responsibility as if you were an agent of the TOU.

Well, I was hoping to avoid personal involvement in this issue. Hmmmmm....I had not been thinking of thread moderators as "agents of SI." That would be sort of like the ball monitor in the fifth grade being an agent of the school. The ball monitor has not accepted and therefore is not subject to the professional liabilities or requirements of the supervising teacher. Still, you could have committed a dopey action based on the intent of the thread header and when challenged reversed your decision, walked away from it, Laughed it off...or not. (Note: I think you done good). It would still fall back on SI Admin to intervene if the SMBR was out of control.
