They sold advice that was deliberately misleading...

Any of those individuals who bought based upon a news flash on CNBC or any of the highly-trafficked investment sites didn't pay for the recommendations. (Well, not immediately, LOL.)

And as for being "deliberately misleading," how do you know?

...selling out part of their constituency to reap a greater reward for the services they sold to another part of their constituency.

How do you know this, and what are the opposing constituencies you speak of? And what does it have to do with analysts - not brokers, but research analysts - publishing reports that say "buy," while sending personal and/or internal emails that essentially call the same stocks crap?
