Hello Atin,

This is Jerry's thread, and I'm sure no one here really gives a damn about a couple of retentives discussing a P&F trendline<g>. So I'll drop this discussion after this post.

Your premise is wrong and will confuse people. P&F trendlines are constructed the Chartcraft way or the DWA way. You're following the basic DWA way. So -- do it the DWA way.

Don't move the trendline unless 1) it is penetrated, (with the requisite buy or sell signal, or 2) touched a trendline, and then, before going up (in a column of X's) or down (in a column of O's) even one more box, reverses and starts the next column. That's it. It's simple. If it reverses then move the trendline. Not before.

Your algorithm is currently flawed. Your moving up on a touch of the BRRL or down on a touch of the BLSL before a reversal occurs or before the next box is filled and the trendline is penetrated. It ain't the right way Atin.

In your example the line TOUCHED the box at 18.50 That's fine! It has not penetrated it. The BLSL cannot be started until the BRRL is penetrated. It is not. Stop the line at 18.50 and wait and see what the hell happens. People looking at your charts will see that the BLSL has not started. So -- the BRRL must still be in charge.

If it goes up one more box the BRRL is penetrated and the BLSL starts. If it reverses down, move the BRRL up one more box and move on.

Eric
