It's bad, but not that dismal. Operating loss for the last quarter as $21.5 million on revenues of $42.1 million. You were probably referring to the six-month operating loss of $45.8 million, which had corresponding revenues of $81.2 million.

The revenues in Q2 increased 8% from Q1, and the operating loss decreased by just under $3 million sequentially.

Of course, those numbers exclude the massive charges taken for asset impairment, etc., which have taken their toll on shareholder equity, to be sure. Vitesse was very vulnerable to the industry recession. They were capacity constrained for an extended period and the completion of their fab expansion could not have come at a worse time. Stuff happens.

From a chart point of view, AMCC and VTSS have performed virtually identically during the downfall. However, VTSS recently pierced its September low, and AMCC is testing it. IF AMCC fails its test, look out below as both shares dive for the bottom.
