Iraqi Minister: Opening Talks with UN 'Went Well'

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan (news - web sites) intends to focus on the return of weapons inspectors in talks with Iraq on Wednesday, but Baghdad wants to raise other issues, such as U.S. threats against President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites).

"It went well," Iraq's Foreign Minister, Naji Sabri, said of the first round of discussions. He said about 10 members of his 15-man delegation would not arrive until later Wednesday because of delays in getting U.S. visas.
