Dave,

I honestly don't follow TA,but I don't know if they're without basis or not. I'm into fundamentals myself.
I guess I agree with the outlook on gold, but not for the same reasons.

The dollar won't fall far,IMO. What exactly is sounder, the US economy or say Japan's,Europe's or Bangladesh's?

I feel Japan's demise, the extended& extreme bear gold has been in,the natural process of equalizing values of assets and consolidation of gold producing companies is having it's toll on valuations, now positively. It's way past time,it really is not the result of any bizarre activity,IMO.

The gold market had it's inflated and fundamentally unsound upside in the late 70s. So have equity shares since 1983.

Natural rotation,IMO.
