Sun losing another executive By Therese Poletti Mercury News Posted on Wed, May. 01, 2002 siliconvalley.com Sun losing another executive By Therese Poletti Mercury News Sun Microsystems said Wednesday that Ed Zander, the fast-talking Brooklyn native who serves as No. 2 to Chief Executive Scott McNealy, will retire July 1, adding to the recent exodus of high-level executives from the Santa Clara server maker. The departure of Zander, 55, leaves McNealy alone at the top of Sun as the economic recession and cheaper products from competitors decimate the company's sales.
