Shares of communications equipment manufacturer MRV Communications jumped 47% today as investors realized that strong product offerings from the company positioned it well for the expected upturn. Quincy Q. Quincy, technology analyst for Goldman Sachs, said, "The 98% drop in the stock price from a high of 97 just over 2 years ago to yesterday's close of $1.95 was a bit overdone. The company is expected to start shipping their Aranea-2 terabit router in volume next month and we anticipate they will take significant market share from both Cisco and Juniper Networks. We continue to rate the company a strong buy with a 12-18 month price target of $68."
