JF, re:<INTC - Revenue per employee - 319,460; AMD - Revenue per employee - 250,092>
And how many dollars do I have to spend to get one employee's worth of revenue?
To own one Intel employee's revenue stream, I'd have to spend $2,302,898 by buying 82,482 shares of Intel at 27.92.
To get one AMD employee's revenue stream, I'd have to spend $254,086 by buying 22,575 shares of AMD at 11.28.
Hmmm, I can get the revenue stream of 9 AMD employees for the same money spent on one Intel employee! Think I'll stick with my AMD investment.
And, as an investor, I don't really care which is more efficient right now. I want to know whether a company is getting better or if it is getting worse, don't you agree?
Well, 5 years ago (1996 year end) Intel had revenue of $429,800/employee and AMD had revenue of $160,000/employee. Intel's revenue per employee has DROPPED 25.7% while AMD's revenue/employee has GROWN 56%.
Your Intel investment is looking shakier and shakier.
