tippet, re:BAC
<<think how silly this is on the face of it ...>>
indeed, indeed...
"controlling expense" - by buying companies to bolster asset management???
By buying back 39.2M shares the 1st quarter at a generous average of $65/shr=approx. $2.5+B?? - so that the insiders can exercise their options at a 52 wk high??
"pleased with the progress the company is making across business within its Global Corporate & Investment Bank"
Someone (maybe you) posted a link to the reality of bank figures for the first quarter. Here they are;
BAC - Global Corporate & Investment Banking->revenue down 5%, earnings down 13% yoy, totals loans down 29%.
Consumer Credit Card outstanding up 15%.
Yea, I think I'd put out a pretty picture and cash out my options at a 52 wk high too<G>
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
