You may be pretty far out on a limb accepting those rumors about major declines
in subscriber numbers. You're not seeing the kind of corroboration
you might expect if that was indeed the trend.

-- The due diligence advertisers would do before ponying up tens of millions suggests
AOL is satisfying them with some good hard numbers.

-- The complaints that continue even today about difficulty accessing the service indicate
a large customer base that wants what it was getting online with AOL.

-- The action of the stock price is the kind of move you see when investors and
analyst are seeing anecdotal evidence suggesting improving growth.
