Hersch: Reads like the maunderings of a drunkard.

Your statement concerns me a bit. Here's why:

Although our raison d'être is to criticize the works passing before us, your characterization trivializes Hersch's work out of hand making it difficult to establish any meaningful discussion over issues he may have raised. Yes, I know we "pile-on" some authors but I think we all understand there are certain authors who literally move public opinion and to these few we need to pay attention and consider their words.

Just my two cents worth. :o)
