marvin,

When I invest in small caps, I usually do my research beforehand and put the stock away. It doesn't help to watch too closely until there is fundamental changes.

Take NCDI as an example. I bought the stock at $4ish spring of 96, the stock promptly went down to $3ish, and then slowly recovered to $12 arund New Years when I got out. The stock later went up to $15 before decling.

What I am trying to say is: small stocks are not the best place to make overnight profits.

Regards,
Ibexx

PS: To me the patience part is relatively easy as I am highly diversified (36 stocks) and on a typical day, some would rise while other fall.
