In times of war people are generally asked to sacrifice... except perhaps for the Vietnam War and the 'War on Poverty', where taxes were NOT raised nor corresponding reductions made in other spending, and which kicked off a decade of stag-flation and economic under performance.

Where are the sacrifices now? And how long will this 'war' be fought? As long as the Cold War? The 'War on Drugs'?

Exactly how many wars do we plan on fighting - financed entirely with deficit spending?

Well, at least the military-industrial contractors will get rich :)

How about a 'temporary' wealth tax (like WWII) until the war is successfully concluded? That ought to ensure a quick victory!
