So let me get this straight, both you and fred agree with me about everything. Will wonders never cease.
The anti-semitism thing is something jews often dont share with non-jewish folks. But i will with you. My whole life experience is based on the fact that i had little extended family. My italian neighbors had folks in the old country. The Irish folks next door seemed to have thousands in their extended family both here and abroad. I had none of that. When i started watching the old b&w newsreels of the camps i knew why. Thats why i find Wills article so chilling. Put a few million jews in one place and they become a target--for a variety of reasons but all with one common thread--we are too small in numbers to be concened about and we have attained much wealth that can be seized. There are only two ports of call for us now--Israel and the US. If one goes the other might not be far behind. Thats why i support most of what israel does and why i go ballistic with the religious right talk of greater israel. Israeli and American interests must remain on the same track---Israeli expansion is a non-starter but so is US State dept types who have been trying to sell out Israel for decades. mike

PS i have a question. If US had not supported israel and israel would have been defeated and jews driven out what would be the state of affairs in the mideast today?
HOw could it be worse one might say--believe me it would be. Israel as part of a new democatic and progressive mideast still can happen later rather than sooner.
