Hi MeDroogies, <<It isn't a question of who is right or wrong, since opinions are what make a market>> I am guessing this thread is not into ribbing, as at the BBR, so OK.
<<... falling from 67th floor ... fallen from the 3rd floor ... hardly what goes through ones' mind ...>>
I had been in an Singapore Airline flight that hit an air pocket and went into a free fall for what seemed like a few seconds (hostess ended up first on the ceiling, then the floor). I had let out a yell along with just about everybody else, and very quickly I went deathly calm, thinking 'this is it, all my affairs are in order, and down we go'. My knees got wobbly only after we had landed.
Perhaps a fall from the third floor does not give enough time for much thinking. 67 floors affords much more time for the mind to focus on things that matter.
I drafted this post while you added the bit about the <<tumor removed>> ... as you can see, an extended period of time affords the mind time to think and think well, as opposed to simply practice a short term denial followed by possibly intense, perhaps irrational, but inevitable and shorter term panic.
