It was an estimate. There are approximately 100 million information systems workers worldwide, up from only about 3 million when Gates started Microsoft. So maybe the number should be 20 million? WTF is the difference?

As usual, you missed the entire point. Gates's wealth is nothing compared to the impact he and his company have had on society during the past 20 years. Sure, the software has some occasional problems (who's doesn't?) and the company is too dominant, but these are issues that can be managed.

Just think, a guy with a good idea, great strategy and solid implementation plan can turn a startup into a monopoly. Don't you wish you could?
