Hey, me too, tired and confused. I was agreeing with Earl regarding the connection between the "hiring bubble" and LGND getting more money.

I find it hard to believe the financial situation is quite as severe as he states. Perhaps Henry can clarify this. If they are really running out of money by September, they will need to raise not only enough to continue operations but also a substantial amount to buy ALRI whose demise they have been accelerating. Even if they ever sign a leptin deal, I don't think they will get more than 10m cash, which is just a drop in the bucket given their burn rate. And how much will someone give them for a P2 diabetes drug in upfront cash? 30m? Still no one seems worried about the situation, so something must be going on. Still, I can see a good bit of dilution quite possible coming up. For part of the dilution they will get ALRI, so its really just a trade. But the rest will be for operating expenses.

How about it Henry? What is Lgnd's current cash? And how much will ALRI cost?
