Lizzie,
Everyone is doing the stealth layoff thing in Silicon Valley. This is one of the things that I find very concerning. It is like they are doing their best not to spook the market. At one point, it would be a good thing to announce a layoff as it indicates that costs are being controlled. At another point, it becomes a big question mark in people's minds because it negates the idea that the economy has bottomed.
