Tim, you're absolutely right about the kWh ! As an engineer I should
know better, and have been just as sloppy as the media ! Apologies.

Since you're a utility engineer do you know how much power an air-con
unit actually uses to withdraw a certain amount of thermal energy
from a confined space ?

i.e. if you have a kW load in a room then how much energy would you
consume to extract the generated heat ?
