AMD was about 40% of the retail notebook at the end of last year. Overall notebook market numbers have not been as widespread. However, IIRC Intel noted their mobile CPU shipments for last quarter and with AMD's reported "10% of shipments" some general estimates of AMD's notebook share were posted by others here. I looked quickly but could not find the info on Intel mobile CPUs.

EDIT: AMD's share of the mobile CPU market was closer to 10% than 30%.

I do agree with your general point, however, that AMD has made solid progress in returning to the notebook market. TBred's slow uptake makes me wonder if they may have stalled in further expansion.
