Well, I didn't know the exact code, but I think you've proven my point.

Your point relied on the right being "of the militia" but it is a right "of the people".

Also even if it was a right of the militia by US law that would cover a lot of people, I can't see how that proves your point.

It was people with their own private weapons who where called up or volunteered for service.
So now you get to have a gun if you're either drafted or volunteer for 'service'?


The militia is not, and was not, the regular army. They didn't have to fight outside of their state/colony let alone outside of the country. The where not a standing force in most cases.

You do see my point? the language quoted proves how restricted the 'right' is... and also demonstrates
that the 'right' is whatever passes by the ruling power.


Not at all. The language of the bill restricts who is part of the militia. But the 2nd amendment recognizes a right "of the people".
