Haim, Looking forward the economy is on the path to recovery but a slow one and much will depend on Bush policies to ward the ME. Already caving in to the Saudis demand has hurt the USD and the US stock market.

I think this is a good point, but it's too early to tell what the lasting effect will be, IMHO.

If kissing up to the Saudis now is simply the price Shrub feels he has to pay in order to set the stage for taking out Saddam, then the long term benefits, both to the economy and the country as a whole, will be well worth the temporary disruption, (again, IMHO).

If not, I may start buying gold and storing it in a floor safe.
