I predict that 5 years from now it will turn out that Oracle is right, and the contract was a very good deal for California, and the Mercury News will not print anything about this fact.

Also, I wish someone would explain to these people that being a reseller for company X doesn't mean that you are "working for" X, and that this relationship isn't a secret, although the reseller may have failed to tell the state employees about their relationship with Oracle.

Having dealt many years ago with the state of California on a contract, I'm sure you could tattoo information in large letters on the ass of every state employee that you met and even if they didn't forget it immediately, at the first sign of criticism they'd claim that you hadn't told them anything.
