I agree with you, at least based on that story, and the Seattle Times is a very reputable paper. What I'm wondering is whether AI will issue any kind of retraction or correction of their urgent appeal, which is she lied is at best improper and at worst defamatory of Guatemala.

Also, it's pretty clear that her effectiveness in Guatemala is at an end, which is a pity if she really was doing good and responsible work down there.
