Joan -- Do we have a supply problem? -- the markets are worried because the Russian court overturned a deal to restructure of Norilsk Nickel. Also... rumours are abound that both China and India are big buyers on the international markets, which have depressed inventories ... General Motors (one of the world largest user of base metals) has also stated it will increase auto production.

...and nickel use has shot through the roof here locally in Edmonton due to the ice pack and the high demand for skates.
