First of all, don't bite my head off, I was interpreting the remark.

Nope, you were quite clearly making the remark. You do take the cake, Nadine. You find a way to get back to Paul's comment and then criticize my reaction to it. Biting your head off would have been to make the same observations about your anti-Palestinian posts.

As for the substance, I still find Tony Judt's arguments the most persuasive, that for Israel to continue the occupation is to place themselves in the same jeopardy as the French in Algeria. Thus, the two state solution with the 67 borders is the most security possible. The remainder of your observations about recognition of Israel is an obvious part of that solution. I've always assumed that's packaged into the "land for peace" talk.

As for your convictions that no deal is possible with Arafat, it also seems likely, with the same degree of conviction that no deal is possible with Sharon or Netanyahu in power. Either something absolutely extraordinary happens (which is obviously more than unlikely) or serious peace awaits serious power changes.
