As for your convictions that no deal is possible with Arafat, it also seems likely, with the same degree of conviction that no deal is possible with Sharon or Netanyahu in power No, no, and no. Have you understood nothing about Israel, to say this? Sharon and Netanyahu are leaders of a government that abides by its agreements. Sharon dismantled the Sinai settlements in 1979. Netanyahu did not abrogate the Oslo accords when he was Prime Minister, though he disagreed with them. If a majority of the Israelis support a peace agreement, then Netanyahu or Sharon will make peace and abide by it. What makes it impossible is that the Israelis see that they have only a gang of terrorists to talk to, who have never kept ANY agreement, with the whole Arab world egging them on.
