C, "Anyway, the system looks and feels perfectly stable."

In engineering, there is never a reason not to follow
engineering recommendations. The recommendations are derived
not from "looks and feels", but from results of thorough
validation efforts.

"The dual problems you talk about probably had to do with Intel's GTL+ bus."

The bus, any bus, has very little to do with dual configurations. Hey, even Elmer says that the bus is just
a bus, don't you trust him?

"We run a bunch of Windows 2000 programs ( Oracle, Visual Studio 6, etc. ) with no issues."

You are not paying attention, apparently. As I said,
problems may exist in handling legacy hardware. Do not
be surprised if a floppy would give you some
"no device found" error time to time.
